What should
be the recommended system requirements of my computer? |
On Hardware you should
have at least Pentium III PC, minimum of 64mb ram with
at least 56kbps Modem.
Your operating system must be on Windows 98/Me/NT/2000/XP
or MacOS 8 and higher. |
How can I know how many hours do I still
have in my dial-up account? |
You can use either worldgroup manager
or the vasia web site. From the vasia web site, click
on “User Account”, enter your user-id and
password at the prompt. Your user account info will then
be displayed. Look for the number beside the credits
info. The number corresponds to the number of credits
you still have in your account. If it’s a positive
number, divide it by 6000 and you will get the equivalent
number of hours. If it’s a negative number (meaning,
it has a minus sign before the number), you have already
ran out of hours and are already using your excess usages.
Divide it again by 6000 and you will get how much excess
hours you have already used. |
Can I know my actual use of my Vasia
account? |
Yes, you can. From the vasia web site,
click on “Check Usage” and enter your user-id
and password at the prompt. Enter the start and end dates
of the time period you want to know your usages. Click “Query
Usage”. |
Do I need to always change my password?
|
Yes, you should periodically change your
account password as cracking tools are becoming more
sophisticated these days. When you periodically change
your passwords, it will minimize the chances of others
to keep up with your account info. |
How do I change my user password? |
You can do it in either through worldgroup
manager or at the vasia web site. From the vasia web
site, click on “User Account”, enter your
user-id and current password at the prompt. You user
account info will then be displayed. Enter your old password
in the “Current Password” entry space. Then,
enter the new password that you want to use in the “New
Password” entry space. Please use passwords with
a combination of alphanumeric and special characters
to make it a bit difficult to guess but not enough for
you to forget. Passwords should be at least 5 characters
and maximum of 9 characters. Click “Submit” and
it ask you again to enter your new password. |
If I live outside Metro Manila and Rizal
Province, can I connect to the internet using myVasia-DialUp? |
Until we extend our coverage beyond our
present area which should be soon, you need to specify
the covered area code of Metro Manila. Input the phone
number as your dial-up numbers: 02-6368050. Be advised
that you will be charged by your telephone company accordingly
for these long distance calls. |
Is it important for me to use the Vasia
email address that came along with my subscription? |
Yes, you should. All Vasia accounts come
with email addresses with a vasia.com domain, i.e. <userid>@vasia.com.
Although you can still use other non-vasia web-based
emails, it is important to regularly use your Vasia email
address as all announcements and billing statements are
sent to that address. |
My Vasia subscription comes with a free
web hosting space. How can I avail it? |
All vasia subscription accounts come
with varying amounts of web hosting space. Check your
plan to know how much web space you have. Either call
Technical Support or email staff@vasia.com and request
for your free FTP user-id/password. Your folder name
will be the same as with your user-id. The URL of your
web space will become http://www.vasia.com/<your user-id>. |
I forgot my password, how can I retrieve
it? |
For security
purposes, subscribers must fax or mail a signed letter
to vasia
whenever requesting
for a password retrieval. The request must indicate the
subscriber’s name, user-id and signature as well
as a photocopy of the ID of the requesting subscriber,
if possible. Please attention the request to Customer
Service. Please allow 1-2 days for password retrieval.
A customer service will call the requesting subscriber
to give the new password. The subscriber is requested
to reset the password upon receipt of it.

What are credits and how does it relate
to my internet access hours?
|
Credits are used in monitoring one internet
usages. It may be confusing at first but it is really
easy to understand once you get used to it. Credits can
be converted to time. 6000 credits is equivalent to one
hour.
Positive credits mean that your plan’s credit
allocation has not been used yet, i.e. 90000
Zero credit means that you have used up your plan’s
credit allocation.
Negative (-) credits mean that you have exceeded your
plan’s credit allocation and is now using excess
or negative credits/hours.
|
Will I get a notification once I used
up all my plan hours/credits?
|
Yes, our system sends class switch notifications
via email to your Vasia email address. Unfortunately,
due to our pop3 mail server upgrade, the email notifications
can only be retrieve using worldgroup manager. If you
are getting email from external mailers such as Outlook
Express and others, you will not be able to receive it.
Vasia is still working on a possible solution to this
and will resolve this situation soon. If you don’t
have worldgroup installed, we will have a web-based worldgroup
email access up soon. |
