Norman warns against new worm attack

The data security company Norman has issued a high alert against a new e-mail worm, preliminary named Sober H, which is spreading rapidly. Protection against the new worm has already been made available.

The spreading mechanisms, potential damage of the new virus and the number of computers attacked have yet to be determined. As of Friday morning CET, the virus is spreading rapidly, particularly in Germany but also in the rest of the world. The e-mails carrying the virus appear with a number of different subject identifications and types of attachments.

Norman’s customers are advised to monitor Norman’s website for updates on the situation.
